About the Tumbarumba Council

The Local Government area of Tumbarumba Shire Council was originally proclamed on 6 March 1906.  In that time there have been 33 Shire Presidents and 5 Mayors elected.

The Council has eight (8) Councillors who are elected for 4 year terms. Due to recent changes to the Local Government Act, elections were held in March 2004, with the next elections scheduled for September 2008. The positions of Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected by the Councillors annually in September.

Profiles and contact details for all Councillors are available here
